You can tell a lot about a company by how they recruit

At Authentic Response, we believe how sample providers recruit panelists, and the respect with which they treat their panel members, speaks volumes about the work they’ll do for you. As pioneers in the panel recruitment space and one of the nation’s leading panel providers, we take the job of attracting and retaining our panelists very seriously. That is why we partner with 400 of the web's top content providers, like CNET, MSNBC, Entrepreneur.com, and others to passively recruit panelists. We also confirm each respondent’s interest in joining through our patented, “double opt-in” process.

We developed the gold standard. And now we’re protecting it.

Currently, many of the largest panel firms are resorting to unhealthy recruitment methodologies to sustain their fast-paced growth, resulting in an abuse of panelists with an onslaught of invitations and reminders. These practices are gradually resulting in a decrease in response rates from legitimate respondents. They also encourage participation based on the incentive being offered, instead of on the inherent value of the feedback being shared.

An even more disturbing trend has been the adoption of suspect recruitment techniques, such as co-registration and affiliate marketing sites that allow panel companies to recruit professional survey respondents quickly and easily. Other techniques use the prize value of the incentive and confusing legal terms to entice panelists to sign up without realizing what they’re doing, blurring the line between spam and market research. Opt-out registrations and single opt-in registrations also leave lasting damage on the industry.

Passive Recruitment

Passive Recruitment: The practice of inviting respondents to share their opinion while they register to receive content from their favorite websites.

We’ve all seen the offers. Get paid cash for taking online surveys! Co-registration and affiliate marketing websites that offer sweepstakes or cash incentives that attract professional survey takers with questionable motives. At Authentic Response, we do not offer respondents an incentive to join our panel.

Our partner sites and recruitment methods provide additional advantages:

Patented Double Opt-in Registration

Double Opt-in:The practice of sending a confirmation email to panel registrants who must then respond to verify their interest in receiving surveys.

Authentic Response was the first online sample company to twice confirm the respondent’s interest in receiving surveys, and patented the process in 1998. During the double opt-in process, demographics, firmographics and psychographics are collected to progressively profile each respondent. This process also increases responsiveness, enabling Authentic Response to reach the desired population quickly and cost effectively.
